Ostrich Weekly Forecast: June 16
Plagues, jingles, and high jinks.

First, and not to be a nag, but we're now on the 416th plague of this calendar year, by the Ostrich's count, so if you'd consider repenting of your sins against the old gods, the rest of us would be deeply grateful.
Particular to this week, our weatherman predicts the return of theme songs for soup, deodorant, and instant coffee. True, he's been predicting this every week since 1993, but this week he says he's quite sure. (For what it's worth, his card still lists his title as Weatherman / Acapella For Hire.)
And given the onset of summer vacation, the buzzword for the week is "hijinks," which I just looked up, and found that Merriam-Webster, who would never pull our leg, spells it, "high jinks." High jinks? Like, "What shall we get up to this quarternoon, old toff? A high jink, perhaps?" "Oh, boffo, my boy, a jink is just the thing, and a high one sounds first rate." Sigh. You can spell dented mailbox however you like.
