Ostrich Weekly Forecast: May 26
National Paper Airplane Day, and the Bite an Insect Challenge.

With the craziness of National Coconut Cream Pie Day, National Clean Up Your Room Day, National Be a Millionaire Day, National Miniature Golf Day, National Lost Sock Memorial Day, and National Tap Dance Day finally behind us, we can heave a sigh of relief and focus on today's observance, National Paper Airplane Day. As we do each year on NPA Day, we invite you to fold today's newspaper into your favorite airplane shape and see how far you can chuck it. Last year's winner sailed 32 meters. If you can beat that, send us your measurement. Furthest airplane wins a prize direct from Ostrich Central.
It's also the last week of the Bite an Insect Challenge, a bet made by nature itself. If you can successfully bite a biting insect before it bites you, you'll earn the respect of the entire brood, and they'll swear an oath not to bite you for the rest of the summer. If you manage to bite a yellow jacket, the most coveted insect on the menu, you'll be free to picnic wherever you like, all the way through September. But the offer expires in June, so you have just six more days to snap your jaws at the little buggers. Good luck!
